I just had to share this newborn session for Baby Elijah that took place at the Dawn Rocks Photography studio in Lakewood, WA. I haven't blogged for a bit but I need to get back into it so I am starting with this handsome little one! 

Elijah had the cutest expressions and the best hair I have seen come through my studio! I can't wait to see what this looks like for his milestone sessions. 

One of the best things about his session was having two Grandmas come visit and was able to capture all 3 generations during the session which doesn't get to happen often!

This stunning expecting mama from Lacey came to see me not only for an outdoor Maternity session but a studio session here in Lakewood/Tacoma. After the studio session, we ventured out to a hidden area at JBLM and captured some stunning images. Not only was the location perfect but pregnancy looks so good on this mom to be and she was just glowing!

Tacoma 6 month milestone session from this summer that is just too sweet I have to share! I am catching up on blogging and starting with this doll. She was just such a joy to have at the Dawn Rocks Photography Studio. From her big smile, to that gorgeous red hair to those sweet blue eyes. She was such a happy and content little one. Did our first 6 month milestone food smash and she just loved it! Check out some of the session below! 

Tacoma Newborn Photographer Dawn Rocks Photography's 1st Anniversary Giveaway

I am so over the moon every day that I get to call myself a newborn and maternity photographer. What an incredible year it has been! I officially launched Dawn Rocks Photography as a business last August shortly after graduating with my BS in Computer Science and Systems from the University of Washington. I spent the next few months preparing for my husbands homecoming from a deployment, the holidays and gearing up for some really exciting things for 2015. In January, I made the decision to specialize in newborn and maternity portraiture and I have never looked back. Parenthood is such a beautiful time and being able to capture a memory - of how they were when they were that small and the journey of making their grand entrance into this world is amazing. Creating something to cherish that memory, not only for the parents, but for the children and the generations to follow. 

In February I had the opportunity to spend a week with a newborn photographer that I admire and follow Kelly Brown from Little Pieces Photography . Not only did I learn so much about my business and the art of photography, but it was life changing for me personally. I set some goals and my biggest one has already been accomplished. I opened my own commercial studio and this summer that is exactly what I did! It has been quite a task but I would not change a thing! 

So to everyone who has been here to support me and my business along the way, thank you. Your support and love means the world. I adore my clients, watching their families grow and being apart of that journey.  The fellow photographers who lift one another up and help each other grow in this community(Special shout out to Laura Ryan Photography for her friendship and being such a joy in the photographer community to share with and support one another). To my husband and kids who has been so supportive of my love for the art, becoming a business owner and pushing myself to set and work towards these goals.

Tacoma Newborn Photography | Adorable Baby Girl Wilhelmina Newborn Session

This sweet baby girl Wilhelmina came to visit my new photography studio in Lakewood, WA located just south of Tacoma and north of JBLM for her newborn session.

Her mom is a dear friend of mine and I was so excited to get to finally get to meet her! I love her hair! So much of it and it's got a little mind of its own. I saw something from each of her older siblings in her face and expressions - she is just so sweet and adorable.

Adorable baby boy Blake - Tacoma Newborn Session - Lakewood Baby Photographer

I got to meet up with this sweet little newborn Blake and his family a few weeks ago. He was just as cute as could be and all his little faces he would make had me smiling and my heart melting. 

I think you will notice by the props what the daddy does and it was awesome to be able to incorporate it into the session. Mom and Dad brought this very cute firefighter prop for his session and it was just perfect!

Adorable baby boy Jace - Newborn Session - Tacoma baby photographer

A few months ago I met baby Jace's parents Eric and Ashley at Ft Steilacoom Park in Lakewood for their maternity session. They are just the sweetest and cutest couple you could ever meet and I just knew that they would be amazing parents. The love they have for one another is undeniable! Its so sweet!!! 

Last month Jace made his grand entrance and a week later he was at my JBLM home studio to visit for his newborn session. I knew from the maternity session and from Facebook that the parents were huge Seahawks fans. When I saw a fellow photographer post an image for the superbowl, I immediately thought of this family and knew I had to pick up this outfit and have it as a surprise for their session(Check it out below!). I love how it turned out!!!

This little guy had the cutest little faces and smirks while sleeping. It was just too adorable and editing his session had me smiling!!! Check out some of his session below so you can see for yourself!
